I wanted to play with the light on the flamingo pictures. It was tough to get it just right; Too much exposure would have blown out all detail on the first too little and there would have been very detail on the back subject. I used a minolta spot-meter with the camera set to manual.
D’Arcy Evans was born in a small town in Ontario, Canada in 1960. His interest in photography was sparked in 1997 while flying over the Yukon River in Alaska in a small plane. He made a photograph of the river that was later used by the geography department at the high school he attended back home.
